Our first outdoor PechaKucha Night will be at the ideaXfactory, 351 N. Boonville starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6. This is event number ten for PechaKucha Springfield, so PechaKucha Night vol. 10 = PechaKucha X and idea eXploration!

Featured presenters include: Kyle Scheele, Jessi and Eric Honeycutt, Meredith Burstin, the Paper Airplane Zine Library, and more….

The event will be held during the Contemporary Art Street Jam going on at the corner of Boonville and Mill on July 5-6. Before PechaKucha on Saturday there will be Live Art street painting, MSU and Drury collaborative raku firings, hands-on bubble art painting, build a robot sculptures and zine making. Right before and after PechaKucha X, we’ll have some great music from local indie bands, so bring a blanket or camp chair and enjoy a full evening!

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for conversation, the 20 x 20 format keeps ideas moving at a rapid pace. Presenters have 20 images and 20 seconds per image, a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds, to tell their story. PechaKucha Night is an event to share ideas and experiences in an open source environment. The idea is to come away from the event with a greater perspective and richer ideas, but most importantly, to enjoy oneself in the process.
